“New Album The Wages ” coming May 25th, 2010
I grew up in the country, and rural life and rural culture has shaped me and my music,” says Reverend Peyton, who really is a Kentucky Colonel, just like
Elvis Presley, Roy Rogers and Tiger Woods. “I have been playing music since I was a little kid. I am pretty sure we are on to something now.” That combination of authenticity and originality is evident throughout the Big Damn Band’s “The Wages,” driven by the trio’s big damn vocals and melodies, gutbucket guitar playing, and foot-stomping rhythms, all in service of songs that are honest and moving, devoid of irony or artifice. For a limited time when your pre-order the Big Damn Bands new amazing album “The Wages” you will get a free bandanna!

“The album The Whole Fam Damnily was recorded at a church in Bloomington, Indiana, just down the road from where the band lives.
“From the rowdy and rancorous opener ‘Can’t Pay The Bill’ to the melodic, slide-guitar-driven barnburner ‘Wal-Mart Killed The Country Store’ and heartfelt fingerstyle ballad ‘What’s Mine Is Yours,’ the album is a timeless collection of songs that defies age and era—and pays homage to the band’s influences without imitating them.
“We come from the same tradition that Charley Patton and Furry Lewis came from; they just took off with their instruments and went out into the world to see what would stick,” Peyton elaborates. “They sang about what they were going through in their time and we’re doing the same thing in ours.”
